Obituary in Lewiston Sun : Auburn - Albert M. Eustis, 92, formerly of North River Road, died Friday at Clover Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Born at Dixfield, Feb.2, 1898, he was the son of William Tappan & Elizabeth (STOWELL) EUSTIS. He graduated from Boston Latin School and Bryant and Stratton Business College.
He was a veteran of Worl War I. He worked in accounting in Guatemala and Mexico, then worked for Mexican Railway in New York City for a number of years, where he also sold real estate. During World War II, he worked in Panama and Venezuela. After the war, he worked for Bethlehem Steel in Cuba and more recently was Auburn city auditor for 20 years.
He also kept the books for Leavitt Institute and was a member and former treasurer of the Auburn United Methodist Church.
Mr. Eustis was an avid bridge player and bridge teacher. He also composed many poems.
His wife of 60 years, the former Gladys PENNELL, died in 1983.
Survivors include one son, Penn S. of Providence, R.I. and Winter Haven, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry G. (Priscilla) SCAMMON Jr of Hollis, and Mrs Joh (Maribeth) PARSONS of Auburn; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A son, A. Mason Jr., was killed in action in World War II.
